What We Are Looking For
We publish writers who know cricket. You do not need a journalism background, but you do need:
- A specific angle or argument — not a general roundup
- Factual accuracy — we check claims before publishing
- Original work — we do not accept pieces published or submitted elsewhere
- A clear voice — we are not looking for wire-style match summaries
Pitching Guidelines
Send a pitch, not a finished piece. A pitch is two or three sentences: what the piece is about, why it is interesting right now, and what angle or argument you are taking. If we like it, we will commission and give you a brief.
Typical word counts: 600–900 words for analysis pieces, 1,000–2,000 for profiles and essays. We will agree the length before you write.
What We Pay
Maximum Cricket is building its editorial budget as the audience grows. We are currently working with contributors on a byline and revenue-share basis while the commercial foundation scales. If you are building a cricket writing portfolio, we can give you a platform with editorial support and a real readership.
